On my second day of the Garden Route, after the Safari, we made the Elephant Sanctuary Tour. For that we visited a kind of farm with Elephants that have diseases or that where haunted by poachers. So it's similar to Tenikwah, but for elephants. Two of three elephants didn't had the normal african trunk anymore, which is named the two fingers, that they use like a hand. On the farm the people showed the elephants how to live without this hand, in wildlife they wouldn't have survived like that. So this farm isn't like a zoo, the animals live there for a good reason.
We made a walk with the elephants, where everybody could walk a little bit with one elephant and they really give you their hand, like a human. That was a really nice experience. At the end we could could feed them with some pumpkins.
